There was a fun NYT's article, "What a Great Trip! And I'm Not Even There Yet!"
While my Colombia trip is not a vacation, it is a journey - a journey of a lifetime - and the anticipation of this experience has been, well, wonderful. I received my acceptance letter to the TGC program last May, so it's been nearly a year of anticipation (and work through the 8-week online class.) I like this part of the journey - the build-up, preparation, and knowing that something wonderful's going to come about.
I've been reading about Colombian history and culture. I've bought a Colombia map and a South American map. I've researched the Colombian educational system. I've got a Pinterest board dedicated to Colombia with colorful images that have sparked my imagination. I'm starting to think about a packing list.
I'm looking forward to the Pre-Departure Orientation in 3 weeks, so excited to learn more about the experience we're going to have.
