Gratitude

Back to Global Learning Home Page
I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to experience the world through the vision and with the support of the Fulbright program. I have valued the support from the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching coordinators in Washington, D.C. and the staff of the Fulbright Center in Finland.

I'd like to extend my gratitude to my adviser, Josephine Moate, and other faculty members and students at the University of Jyväskylä.

Thanks to all of the educators and students throughout Finland who welcomed me into their offices and schools and who graciously shared their experiences, ideas, and aspirations.

Having colleagues who became friends in Jyväskylä was meaningful and joyful. Thanks to my fellow Fulbright teachers - I learned so much from you.

My experience would not have been as rich and wonderful without the support of friends from around the world and from family back home. A special shout out to my aunt, Tina Chavez, for sending us letters - real letters!

I'm most grateful for the love and support from my daughter, Sarah, and husband, Brian.
